OUR COMMUNITY Island Grad Village"

As Island Grad expands its capacity to serve students and the broader community, it implements culturally responsive practices grounded in patience and reciprocity to strengthen students’ sense of belonging, persistence, and academic completion. Our organization intentionally honors both significant educational milestones and incremental progress as meaningful indicators of success, recognizing that sustained achievement is built through consistent support and culturally affirming engagement

01

Empowering the Youth

Island Grad is honored to support youth by uplifting their passions and guiding them toward purpose. Through meaningful community engagement, we promote holistic well-being—strengthening mind, body, and MANA—as a foundation for personal and academic growth.

02

College & Career Leadership Conferences

We host leadership conferences that focus on mental health and wellness, academics, college and career readiness, and cultural healing. Community members are invited to lead workshops, share their expertise, or volunteer, fostering connection and intergenerational learning.

03

Village Connections

It takes a village to help the next generation thrive. By partnering with local educators, leaders, organizations, and families, we build a supportive network committed to empowering youth to grow, succeed, and prosper. Our favorite form of connection is to host workshops that provide spaces for connection, sharing customs and traditions, and engaging in meaningful conversations—what we call talk story!

Road to Pasifika Reef

Our students are seeking opportunities for connection in spaces where they are seen, heard, and valued. In 2022, we hosted Synergy Day, bringing students together in a sacred space for workshops that created meaningful impact, encouraged connection, and empowered one another. Their feedback and desire to continue the experience inspired the creation of Pasifika Reef.

Supporting the Southern California High School conferences

We support active Pacific Islander Student Association (PISA) clubs at campuses like UCLA, UCR, SDSU, SBVC and Cal Poly Pomona. These clubs organize high school conferences that empower Pacific Islander students, celebrate Pasifika culture, and provide spaces for community, advocacy, and belonging.

Back to School Extravaganza (SBCUSD)

An all-day event where vendors come together to provide supplies, resources, and gifts to K-12 students of the San Bernardino County Unified School District.
